Let's be just a little bit realistic here – whether you're a total beginner or veteran of the slopes, a day's skiing or snowboarding will almost certainly leave you exhausted and in need of some serious R&R.
At Verbier Winters we run our holidays from a great chalet, carefully styled and thoughtfully equipped to offer all the comfort and facilities you could wish for after a big day on the mountain. What's more, we've got the flexibility to provide an accommodation and meal package that perfectly suits your booking – from self-catered sole occupancy through to our popular dinner, bed and breakfast deals.
Our newly acquired chalet is located in the charming village of the same name, just a short distance from Le Chable. This modern, detached chalet was completely refurbished to our own high specifications in 2008, and now offers stylish yet practical accommodation with great access to both Verbier itself and some amazing lesser-known ski areas.
Refreshingly light, airy and contemporary, Etiez sleeps 12 guests in six comfortable bedrooms, three of which are en-suite. The chalet features a large family dining room as well as a spacious living room complete with open fire and entertainment facilities. Outside, there's private parking for up to four cars together with a huge private garden providing breathtaking views down the Val Ferret valley towards Italy. On a practical note, Etiez has a ski and boot room as well as a laundry and drying room.
In contrast to the hustle and bustle of Verbier, at 800m Etiez is a sleepy yet charming Swiss village almost untouched by tourism. The village has a small supermarket and a couple of traditional bars and restaurants but, more importantly, its location gives access to some of the region's finest off-the-beaten-track skiing and snowboarding. Using the St Bernard Express train that stops just yards from the chalet, guests enjoy unrivalled access to Verbier, Bruson and other pistes and backcountry areas covered by their Four Valleys lift pass. Areas within a 30-minute car drive include Grand St Bernard, Vicheres, Ovronnaz and Marecottes, while Crans Montana, Aosta and Chamonix are less than an hour away.
For those who prefer to hit the slopes or facilities of Verbier itself, a very short and train ride connects with the high-speed gondola at Le Chable, taking skiers and boarders directly to the Ruinette area at 2200m and conveniently avoiding possible lift queues in the Verbier resort. Le Chable's gondola runs throughout the day, giving plenty of time for a little après ski in the lively bars and restaurants of Verbier, before descending to the low-key tranquillity of the valley.
