Working on the principle that an army marches on its stomach, at Bike Verbier we take our food seriously.
Breakfasts are big, healthy and varied, with fresh fruits, breads and croissants as well as cereals, juices, tea and decent coffee. Our packed lunches are prepared each morning and include man-sized sandwiches, snacks and more fresh fruit. For an instant post-ride hit, afternoon tea comes with a home-made cake baked that same morning while you were busy kitting up. And finally, our delicious and hearty evening meals are prepared and cooked while you're out on the trail, and are always served with complimentary wine.
If you're a vegetarian, just let us know on the booking form and we'll prepare separate dishes for you each evening. On our day off we'll leave you to fend for yourself, but you can eat at one of the cosy local restaurants in Etiez or Le Chable, or choose from plenty more up in Verbier itself.
Whatever we're doing we like to do it properly, and accommodation is no exception. For the 2009 season we've moved into a purpose-designed and tastefully presented modern chalet in the small village of Etiez - close enough for pedalling to Verbier's popular lift system, while ideally placed for access to the lesser-known ranges nearby. Standards are as high as ever, with clean and comfortable en-suite bedrooms, group dining and a spacious living room equipped with music and DVDs - perfect for unwinding. As well as a full-scale workshop complete with its very own snug bar, the new chalet also features secure bike storage, a laundry and drying facilities, and a charming private garden offering superb views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
Etiez itself offers a couple of traditional bars and restaurants, a supermarket, and a direct rail link to Le Chable, as well as providing quick and easy road access to the special riding areas reached with our minibus and bike trailer.
